Exclusive: The Real Story Behind Black Sherif’s Arrest at Kotoka International Airport

On July 19, 2023, reports surfaced on social media claiming that Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong, better known as Black Sherif, was arrested at Kotoka International Airport (KIA). According to unconfirmed reports, the arrest was due to a contractual breach involving a show that Black Sherif failed to honor in Greece.

Blogger and Radio Host Kofi Adoma Nwanwani of Kofi TV confirmed the news, stating that the incident was related to a show scheduled in Greece on July 4. Black Sherif had allegedly charged a fee of US$40,000 for his performance and had received half of the amount in advance.

The Ghana Police Service reportedly picked up Black Sherif and took him to the police headquarters in Accra. The contractual dispute stemmed from his failure to fulfill his commitment to perform on a cruise ship in Greece, leading the client to file a complaint against him.

As a result of the dispute, Black Sherif was placed on a stop list, preventing him from leaving the country until the matter is resolved. Industry insiders and fans are eagerly awaiting updates on the situation.
