Dr. Shaibu Baanni Azumah files to contest the Yagaba-Kubori NDC seat

Agricultural Economist, Dr. Shaibu Azumah Baanni filed to contest the Yagaba/Kubori NDC Parliamentary Primaries in the accompany of scores of delegates.

Speaking to the gathering at the Party Constituency Office during the submission of his nomination forms, he expressed his commitment to building an NDC of belonging and inclusion, where everyone matters.

He emphasized that politics is a game of numbers, and everyone mattered in the party. He charged the party faithful to be united and cooperative in their quest to win the 2024 general elections.

Dr. Azumah pledged to conduct a campaign devoid of insults and provocative phrases and to also work towards promoting unity within the party.

Dr. Azumah also highlighted his dedication to serving the constituents when given the nod, stating that he would be accessible to all and focused on improving their everyday lives. He further expressed his confidence that he was the best candidate to deliver the seat of Parliament for the NDC Yagaba-Kubori constituency in the 2024 general elections.

Dr. Azumah is a development practitioner with nearly two decades of work experience, including consultancy practice for several organizations, including Kantar Public (UK), AGRA, Oxfam, Plan International, GIZ, Solidaridad Network, Global Shea Alliance, among others; and well-regarded for his leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Dr. Azumah and a DAAD climapAfrica postdoctoral fellow, and holds a PhD. and MPhil. degrees in Agricultural Economics, an Executive MBA, and a BSc. in Agriculture Technology. He also holds several professional certificates in agricultural systems, M&E, and grant proposal writing.

Dr. Azumah’s bid for the Yagaba-Kubori NDC Parliamentary Primaries is expected to generate considerable attention, particularly given his extensive experience in development practice and his commitment to promoting unity within the party. His supporters believe that his candidacy represents a genuine opportunity for the NDC to build a broad-based coalition that can deliver victory in the 2024 general election, as he envisions developing the local economy of the area while championing youth development.
