Kwogana Francois Awedana Emerges as Best Civil Engineering Graduate from University of Energy and Natural Resources

Success is not always a straightforward path. Sometimes it takes hard work, determination, and perseverance to achieve one’s goals. This is precisely the story of Kwogana Francois Awedana, a young man from Nayagenia-Navrongo who graduated as the best Civil Engineering student from the University of Energy and Natural Resources yesterday, 31st March 2023.

Kwogana’s journey to success was not an easy one. He experienced setbacks and failures, but he refused to give up on his dreams. He credits his biggest supporters, his mother and twin brother, who stood by him through thick and thin, through his failures and successes.

His educational journey started with a failure. He failed his first BECE exam in 2011 during his early education (JHS). However, he refused to give up and enrolled himself in Presby JHS, starting from JHS one. He worked hard and wrote his second BECE (Final Exam) in 2014, and that marked the beginning of his transformation.

Kwogana’s hard work and determination paid off when he was selected to represent his school, Kanton Senior High School, in the National Science and Maths Quiz. In 2016, he participated in the competition as the third backup contestant for his school. The following year, he represented his school in the competition with full confidence.

Kwogana’s performance in the National Science and Maths Quiz was a turning point in his life. It gave him the motivation and confidence to pursue a career in engineering. He went on to study civil engineering at the University of Energy and Natural Resources, where he graduated as the best student.

Kwogana’s story is a testament to the power of perseverance and hard work. He faced setbacks and failures, but he refused to give up on his dreams.
