Nabaredam Abagaki Richard, better known by his stage name Acxionboi, was born on March 30, 1997, in Navrongo, specifically in Pungu, Ghana. From an early age, Acxionboi had a deep passion for music, which eventually led him to pursue a professional career in the industry.
Acxionboi’s journey in music began during his time at Bawku Technical Institute, where he discovered his talent and developed a keen interest in the art form. It was during this period that he found inspiration in the works of renowned Ghanaian musician Stonebwoy, whose unique style and talent influenced Acxionboi’s decision to pursue music seriously.
The breakthrough moment came for Acxionboi during a variety show at his school. Known for his freestyling skills, particularly in covering Stonebwoy songs, he was encouraged by his friends to perform on stage and represent their house in a singing and dancing competition. Acxionboi’s exceptional performance saved his house, leaving a lasting impression on those in attendance.
Motivated by his friends’ belief in his talent, Acxionboi and his supporters pooled together ¢35 to cover the cost of a demo track. They sought out a studio in Bawku town and enlisted the services of sound engineer Fresh Faya to record the song. The resulting track, a freestyle, was released the following day using the Xender app, and they took it upon themselves to share the music with anyone they met.
As Acxionboi continued to hone his craft, his fan base grew steadily. Through captivating performances and the power of social media, he was able to connect with music enthusiasts and expand his reach.
In 2019, Acxionboi’s talent and hard work paid off when he was crowned the winner of the Navrongo Music Battle, a significant recognition in his career. This achievement further solidified his presence in the music scene and earned him a dedicated following.
