Sam Nartey George, the Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, has praised the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, and the Ghana Police Service for their professionalism and diligence in the recent arrest of six suspects in connection with the killing of a 22-year-old soldier. The soldier was a member of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) band at Sunyani in the Bono Region. The suspects were arrested following a week of sustained intelligence after the police received information about a male adult found dead at Ashaiman Taifa in the Greater Accra Region on March 4, 2023.
In an interview on GHOne TV, Sam Nartey George commended the IGP and his team for apprehending the killers of the young soldier and putting them before the court. He acknowledged that while he had been critical of the police in the past, he was impressed with their recent performance and believed that the Ghana Police Service was one of the finest in the world.
Meanwhile, Ernest Norgbe, the Member of Parliament for Ashaiman, spoke about the aftermath of the military brutalities that occurred in the area. He stated that he had been paying hospital bills and providing other forms of support to the victims and that it had become a debt to him as the MP. He also mentioned that he was working to arrange compensation for the victims and collating data to that effect.
