During the rainy season, strange crocodiles are often washed into communities by rainwater in Paga, which is otherwise known for its friendly crocodiles. Unfortunately, last month, a tragic incident occurred when a woman lost her life due to an encounter with one of these unusual reptiles.
The woman had been on her way home from church and was crossing a small stream in Paga-Nyania when the incident took place. Regrettably, she unintentionally stepped on the crocodile, mistaking it for a rock. In response, the crocodile bit her twice, causing severe injuries to one of her legs.
She was quickly rushed to the War Memorial Hospital for medical attention, but despite the efforts of the medical staff, she tragically succumbed to her injuries.
