About 200 young men and women in the kassena Nankana Municipality have successfully undergone robust Information technology training sponsored by the member of parliament of Navrongo central constituency, Hon. Sampson Tangombu Chiragia.
The training was carried out in collaboration with Slamm Career & Training Center Ghana; the USA and Ghana-based I.T firm which aims at delivering education in information technology to one million youth.
The two weeks training was focused on VIdeo editing, graphic designing, Microsoft suite, Desktop solutions, and cyber awareness. This was to prepare the participants to meet the rising demand for I.T literates in the job market.

In a closing ceremony, a representative of the MP, Dr. Selanwiah S. Abdul-Mumin, expressed the relevance of I.T in today\’s job market and has thus, urged all participants to put their skills to use. He also noted that the MP intends to organize more of these workshops and training to build the human resource capacity of his constituency.
Trainers from Slamm Career & Training Center Ghana also urged participants to constantly practice what they have learned to keep on building on their skills.
Some of the participants in an interview expressed gratitude and excitement for the training and are hopeful for more in the future. Some have taken to their social media handles to express how the training has exposed a lot of opportunities to them.
