Miss Upper East beauty pageant is a scam; Joe Elom Dumolga alleges

The miss upper east beauty pageant that has become a yearly event and patronized by many from far and near in the upper east region of Ghana has been labeled as a scam. A blogger by the name of Joe Elom Dumolga-Blogger in a Facebook live video iterated many issues that in his view believes the event is a scam.

In the live video, he listed 3 major promises and a few minor promises he believed have not been fulfilled over the period that he has observed the event. He stated that a lot of promises were made to the winners of the show in 2019 and 2020 but have since not been fulfilled. Notable among the promises are ambassadorial role, free website, and domain, trip to Dubai, support to their project work, etc.

Joe Elom stated that the Ayelbish event organizers had lots of sponsors and big brands who supported the show. Notable among these sponsors were Happy Man bitters and reputable fashionists who offered immeasurable support to the event. Apart from the above-listed funding source, the show organizers also had other revenue generation modules which included Voting, entrance fee, and individual sponsors.

Joe in his broadcast stated, he does not understand why with all grounded support, the Ayelbish event organizers could not meet their promises yet they have the boldness to start another year\’s event. He believes the organizers are out to make money for themselves and not to build young talents in the region and his opinion, he doesn’t think it is prudent to keep patronizing such events.
