Yussif Yidana, A former Assembly member of the Kassena Nankana West District and a visible member of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC), is caught on a recorded phone call saying that assembly members should not allow Gerald Ataogye to get a second term in office.
This came few days after the ministry of information unveiled the recommended candidates for Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executive(MMDCE) positions. Mr. GERALD ATAOGYE was recommended by the vetting committee to be retained as the District Chief Executive for kassena/Nankana West District.

In the leaked recorded phone call sighted by TimBia GH, Yussif alleges that Gerald frustrated the former Member of Parliament, Rudolph Nsorwinne Amenga-Etego when the common fund was allocated. He further alleged that Gerald does not ensure equitable distribution of developmental projects; instead, he pushes development to NPP-dominated electoral areas.
\”Our mind is that,we don\’t have to allow this person(Gerald Ataogye) to sit there. Are you aware that Gerald frustrated Rudolph when his common fund came?\” he said.
His counterpart, an NDC member, identified in the phone call as Bishop, did not agree with his proposition. Bishop believes that they should move past party lines and look at what brings general development.
