A joint intelligence-driven operation conducted by personnel from the Upper East Regional CTU, Regional Surveillance Team, and supported by NACOB Unit On 19/11/2021, in Navrongo led to the arrest of a 43-year-old Rice farmer, Issah Abdullai.
The team raided two houses in Nangalkenia, Navrongo, where the suspect lives with his two wives and seven children. The suspect was arrested in the first house visited in his room with his second wife, Diana. A search conducted in the room in the presence of his wife revealed one Mac Modele 1950 foreign pistol with five (5) 9mm ammunition in the magazine.

A search in the second house opposite the first house led to the retrieval of twelve (12) sacks loaded with dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp. One other sack containing four hundred and four (404) sealed rubbers containing forty (40) pieces each of a dried substance known as \’Jerry Jerry.\’
The suspect claimed ownership of all exhibits and disclosed that he bought the pistol and the ammunition from a friend in Po, Burkina Faso, whiles another friend of his in Walewale supplied him with the suspected Indian hemp. Meanwhile, the suspect also possessed one unregistered Yamaha sports bike, one Yamaha Nerox Scooter motorbike with Burkina Faso registration, and one unregistered Yamaha Serious motorbike.
